GAIA Jahrestreffen 2026

Taking place at the campus of the two ETH Domain research institutes Eawag and Empa in Dübendorf, Switzerland, the meeting will focus on the preconditions, opportunities, and limits of scaling innovations for sustainability transformation from the perspective of scientific institutions and organisations.

The programme will feature two keynote talks and three parallel workshops. Building on ongoing activities within the ETH Domain, saguf, TU Delft, the Green Village, and ZHAW, these sessions will explore selected aspects of the topic and provide space for in-depth discussion.

Following the presentation of the GAIA Best Paper Award and the GAIA Masters Student Paper Award, participants will have the opportunity to join thematic tours of the campus and NEST –  the modular research and innovation building of Empa and Eawag. As a platform for testing and advancing new approaches, NEST exemplifies the spirit of the meeting: developing, refining, and scaling ideas for sustainability transformation.
